Golfing With Turkeys and Gators

Wow, I can't believe it's been a month since my last post. The weather has really been great and the clock has sprung ahead so it must be spring time. A perfect reason to get a golf membership.

I have to admit it is my ultimate dream; to play golf whenever I want. I  can play everyday. Today was our annual block party and my neighbor and I decided to get some holes in afterwards. We ended up playing about ten holes before it got dark at 7:40. My iron game is really on. I am dialed in. My tee game is a little suspect but I am long; just not too straight. For those of you who know my game you would be surprised to know I now take divots and have to replenish the sand bucket in the cart every nine holes.
I have an amusing anecdote: picture the scene; #6, par 5, water, then a large bunker to clear on the drive but a large pond right as well. I hit a long fading drive toward the water on the right thinking I would be lucky if the ball stayed dry. I pull up over the berm about ten feet into the rough and don't see a ball and assume the worst only to see this:

I quipped to my playing partner "do you think he saw my ball?" After a minute or so of searching for my ball  I approached the gator cautiously and he/she scurried towards the water's edge revealing my tee shot that was hidden beneath his scaly underbelly. Either the reptile laid a Titleist NXT or it stopped my ball from going into the water so I now call the amphibian "birdie" as I did not incur a penalty stroke went on to birdie the hole.
There is an amazing array of wildlife on the course. There is a flock of turkeys that call hole # 14 home:

They have no problem going into your bunker or across your fairway.
My goal is to take my camera with me on a late afternoon round to snap some shots of ospreys, great blue herons, and a great many other fauna.
Also, I was finally able to put some personal touches on my golf cart:

Lastly we have gone to a few spring training baseball games. We have one more to attend and then I will post on that with pics.
I have to include a cat pic as she is always getting into any place you turn your back on for a minute:

HAPPY SPRING EQUINOX
